About Us

In early 2016, a collective group of enthusiastic and passionate individuals came together to form United Indians of South Australia (UIOSA) and created a like-minded forum to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi as the Arts and Cultural Ganesh Festival in Adelaide. Ganesh Chaturthi is a holy festival of Hindus celebrated all across the world to commemorate the birth of Lord Ganesh.

With limited resources at hand and the spirit focused on celebrating the festival on a grand scale, we wanted to induce the passion and zeal of India to the most-sought Ganesh festival to our state of South Australia – the Festival State. We were blessed with the overwhelming support of our volunteers, partners, and local businesses, their confidence accelerated our efforts, and we have never looked back since.

Based on the ideology of Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav meaning community festival, the Arts and Cultural Ganesh Festival is conceptualised on the foundation of inclusiveness of the multi-cultural community of Australia. Hence, the festival turns out to be a landmark event uniting people from various countries and inviting talent from all across the country.

We have conducted this event every year since 2016 that has grown in strength, representation, number of volunteers and attendees.
